Rotel Phono Equalizer RQ-970BX

Anyone know if this will make a marked improvement on just using the phono input on my Rotel RC 870Bx Pre Amplifier?

I've not heard them personally but I'd hazzard a guess and say there is no point in getting the 970BX unless you are planning change to a moving coil cartridge.
