ROTEL 1520 Or Arcam A 19 for B & W 683...

:roll: Hi just bought a pair of B&W 683 in India. I have a med - large room. 325 sq feet with one side open to dining area. I need to choose between the two amps. Arcam is very very well reveiwed. Rotel is also a five star and from the same family. :wall: kindly Help...

i heard the Rotel 1520 with B&W speakers . Very good combination .

I had an Arcam A28 with that same speaker and the sound was terrible. Once I changed the speakers the amp was wonderful.

Maybe you'd have greater luck with the Rotel.

What do you mean same family?

I have not heard the B&W 683, my main concern with the Arcam A19 in that size room whether it has enough power to drive them, in one review it said they need plenty of power and also they can dip to 3 Ohms which will not suit some amps. Really I would look at some more powerful amps, like the Roksan Kandy K2.

Well they both are part of the same B & W group... And i have read and heard that they develop speakers and test them on rotel amps.

Yes it seems Rotel use B&W speakers as their reference speaker, which makes sense.

If I must choose bwtween the 2 amps I go for the Rotel 1520 .
