Trouble is if one or two manufacturers are doing it likely the others will catch on?

The notion that you have already bought the hardware but must the pay to use it is frankly insulting.

Which is why I said "BMW wanted". I remember the bad publicity and back tracking but then weeks later another car manufacturer introduced subscription for something that was already built into the car.

One thing that concerns me a lot here, more so than the cost, if paying a sub to use your car becomes widespread, is that it would likely also bring widespread attempts to hack the software, to bypass the need for a sub. Poorly coded or malicious hacks, could be extremely dangerous, especially with brake by wire becoming more common and, steering by wire coming soon. I know doing everything by wire is now standard in airliners but, they are subject to very much more stringent safety regulations and, not available to the general public, who might meddle with the systems.

So many drivers these days. Today's two were a mouth-breathing swamp donkey tailgating a learner up a long hill, getting ever closer, and a guy who was presumably near death in a Jag S-Type (a car of epic hideousness). We was dawdling along at just under 30 in a 40, entered a roundabout in the wrong lane and then drifted over into the exit he wanted (and which I had mercifully seen coming), then drove for about half a mile at about 18 in a 30. Time to hand in that licence.

Some people are being disruptive in cinemas - despite routine reminders to be considerate to others.

And 'news' stories like this. Behaviour like this is incredibly irritating, but does it really warrant an appearance on the front page of the Beeb's news?

I see it more as warning to stay away from cinemas and, not the first time I've seen that behaviour reported on the BBC News site and, elsewhere.

So many selfish, ignorant, idiots about.

I miss going in some ways but would rather get progressively bigger screens at home, a lot of 4k transfers and the capacity to pause to visit the loo and fridge!

The ones that wind me up and I saw someone complain about in another forum are the ones that do 40mph in a 60mph and continue to do 40 in a 30. The first reply to the post was "60 is the limit not a target"
I thought you clearly didn't read past "40 in a 60" I was so tempted to reply "so if 60 is the limit not a target what about the 30mph limit"
