I am looking at getting either the k2 or caspian, i can get both for the same price, the k2 would be new and the caspian would be ex dem, i wanted the k2 due to its huge power output and its awsome rep, then i noticed the caspian in the corner at the same price and its thrown me a little. the caspian is highly regarded but is only 70wpc which is putting me off, along with the fact that reviews say you need to drive the caspian hard to get the best from it im now wondering which one would suit my pmc's better bearing in mind they need good amplification to get the best out of them, any thoughts?

Thanks john, I have heard that the caspian is fantastic, looks like a home demo is on the cards: MTFBWY

So would I to be honest. Roksan amps really are superb. I think all of their recent kit is superb. Rega and Quad are more my thing though

Another vote for the Caspian - it's almost a no brainer...

...the only thing that goes against the Caspian is the lack of inputs and it ain't great at low levels. That's it.

Caspian. Every time. I've heard both. The Kandy 'seems' to have more power but Caspian 'sounds' more refined. No contest IMHO.

The damping factor of Caspian M1 is larger than K2 despite M1 has less watts than K2. M1 can control speakers well more than K2. K2 has phono and av by-pass function. The sounds of M1 and K2 are quite different. PMC speakers should not be controlled easily.

P.S. M1 pre/power on sell of 50% off

TheStig08,

If it is the Roksan Caspian M-Series-1 you are talking about, then I would opt for the Caspian.

I have owned the LIII and the Caspian would be the superior option.

wow thats an overwelming caspian vote then, i knew it was good. can't wait to get it home to demo now.

has anyone heard a better integrated stereo amp with the pmc's for under £1500? new or used

for the WHF team, when you reviewed the DB1i speakers could you tell me what amplification was used.

Leema Pulse is a good comparison. It's slightly different but equally as impressive. I've not heard the Leema with DB1s. I know Ketan said the DBs would be a good match with the Pulse.

Well, when I say whole, I mean DB/GB/FB speakers. Not even half their range really.

thanks for all the advise guys, i now have 3 great amps to demo,

Roksan caspian
