Doesn't surprise me. The whole Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young were taking so many illicit substances for decades, I'm more surprised the others haven't keeled over long before now.

Nevertheless, it's still sad.

According to Wikipedia, he had a liver transplant in 1994, underwent a cardiac catheterization in 2014 and who knows what else. Not everyone born in 1941 can afford these in the U.S. The liver transplant was paid for by Phil Collins.

Lots and lots of people took substances that were born in 1941 and died young as a result. Very few people that do drugs a lot (that includes alcohol and sugar as they are drugs) live to see old age like he did.
