Richard Dane Naim Forum Moderator - Not a Good Experience

I bet you didn’t do anything particularly wrong to get your ban on the Naim forum

Richard Dane acts like he is god and, with his own narrow minded view, will just ban people or at the very least will start vetting every post you make

How do these narrow minded people become forum moderators? Being a forum moderator gives you complete control over the forum where people like myself are only trying to help people with less experience than myself

Richard decided that I didn’t have anything to offer so decided to vett every post I made, bad show on him

Then Richard decided to ban me from the forum… what a very weak character he is and doing that yet I have years of experience to help out other people

I believe Richard saw me as a threat to his little kingdom as I’m female and he wants to only support the male posters

Shame on you Richard Dane for picking on me because I’m female

Forums have functionality to allow you to report posts and escalate concerns to a wider moderating team. I'd just do that instead of regurgitating the same points again and again here.

Just checking the Forum Rules on that site suggests that he is allegedly breaking the rules of that forum, so I'd suggest you go through the proper channels and report all posts that you feel are out of line:

So does that site actually have other moderators? It is unclear.
Even if it does they are unlikely to challenge the actions of another.

I'd assume it does as it's pretty active; too much for one unpaid Mod to handle.

And I don't know that I'd agree with that second sentence. I've moderated other forums and whenever any posts were reported and reviewed in the "hidden" moderation area, all of the other Mods were balanced and objective. I'd also like to hope that general posters would call out any out-of-order posts too, so in a way, many forums self-moderate to a degree.

I have had constant problems posting on the Naim forum and the only reason I can come up with is that I’m female and the moderator has a problem with that

Now all my posts are being vetted by the moderator

The moderator keeps telling me ‘this is how the forum works’ yet we all know that this moderator has complete control over the forum

The moderator keeps stopping my posts being published yet all the male posters are allowed complete access without the moderator vetting their posts

So what if I’m one of the very few female posters on the Naim forum?

However the moderator has consistently stepped in on my posts and is constantly vetting my posts

All my posts on the Naim forum have tried to help people as I have 35+ years of hifi experience and building great sounding systems and all I’ve tried to do is impart some of my knowledge onto others but for some reason the moderator keeps stopping my posts and the only reason I can think of is because I am female and he has an issue with that

Shame on Richard Dane the moderator of the Naim forum

An apology from Richard would suffice as well as him stop vetting my posts.

Don't worry to much about it because I found when I came on here & Naim forum that I had people trying to tell me how I should be addressing the way I was sending out my feelings. But then I realised that not everyone thinks & feels the same way & also everyone should try to understand that even everyone has to learn from some but the ones who think they know it all are the ones who also need to learn that we are leaning all the time ? Don't forget Naim or What Hi*Fi forums but also try Reddit forum which is good to listen & help. but Im glad that I have had someone else who thinking like me but I'm a man who loves to talk about HiFi & i'm not a Audiophile guy I'm a music lover 🙂 👍

Not everyone has the time to go though all the little print for all the rules so it's sometimes nice that someone can tell you your little mistakes instead of just blanking you out.👍🙂

I hope we can get back to talking & helping everyone out on what the have of interest in life because everyone likes to learn about everything & this is a great way to go about it. If a forum feels toxic, for whatever reason, abandon it, there's always another one. Don't waste your time ranting about it on other forums, life is too short. I've only ever had problems on American forums, they often seem to be over moderated and, hate any form of criticism.

Agree. Perhaps best to go through official Naim channels. After all, it's Naim's reputation that's on the line.

I don't wish to make light of your personal grievance, you could try to mitigate your end by registering a formal complaint, this will allow you to reconcile.

I appreciate and we all speak from our own experiences and don't wish to sound patronizing but why do you give a fig?
Sometimes you have to say phu*k it and move on. Surely, you're better than this?

If I recall I'm still barred from Fudzilla, because the editor and moderator Mr. Farrell wrote a Russophobic and hateful article and I called him Richard and Richard is the long word for....? 😆
