Excuse me if I'm missing the point but can I ask why What Hi-Fi insist on reviewing a DJ turntable in a hi-fi magazine and, in the process, giving it a three-star rating based upon sound quality? It's akin to DJ magazine reviewing a Project turntable and complaining that there's no direct-drive motor or pitch adjust. Besides which, how many people would even consider purchasing a single Technics deck to listen to music on at home? Not many, I'll wager. Just seems a little pointless, to me at least. ;-)

I've never thought of the Technics as being a DJ deck, or at least solely the preserve of those guys. The origins of the deck were for home use, also, modify it by removing the arm and putting on an RB250 or RB300 - or better still one of the customised RB's that you can pick up and you have a serious hi-fi proposition that's got a build quality second to none and a drive that's none too shabby either.

And yes, there's a big market for the Technics - check out the web for some examples.
