His mate who's also American, being that all the refresh/frame-rates etc quoted are for the US TV systems (multiples of 60Hz) rather than the UK (multiples of 50Hz).....

D.J.KRIME:I can't believe I have just wasted 5mins of my life reading through this pointless thread! Just had the same though myself. What's worse is I'm not even really interested as I don't play video games although the "my mate the engineer" was a tad comical and made up for it in the end

I checked out that website. Nice looking US Samsung 240hz TV being linked to the site.

For what it is worth, the thread created here on Response times of HD Televisions was self defeating. For one thing, a set of figures were quoted to say which television is faster and slower, then a copied article followed - well written but technical, about how the 'rendering of fast moving action' cannot be judged purely by reponse times etc etc etc. Then reasons follows.More science! I did get lost.

OK, I learnt something. Can't judge a Televisons's ability by the numbers quoted. So we use our eyes to decide. But we all don't perceive the same. You see blur or you don't, etc etc.Blah!

I am beginning to think now that there is so much confusion out there! We have to have Experts advising on what other Experts say about how good Televisions are?

That full article on the site questions the wisdom of what I think I know.and frankly I am confused about the facts on Reponse times. It is just too complicated once you read it to then think one is better informed to get a jolly good TV.

As for the poster, well no crime in your 'cut and paste' antics, but you wouldn't have got caught if you used you own words to express the article. But then you probably didn't understand what you read to put it into your own words. Likewise.

OK, Nakasumy. I did copy and paste, but so what? I am quoting from others. If the infomation is wrong then it is not me then is it that is wrong! So I lied about where the infomation comes from. I could have said it came from Grand Dad. It don't change a thing....does it?

No one knows nothing, They just pretend to know. That's the hippocracy.

I think the point is that there was no need for you to lie. You could simply have referred to the article directly and asked for people's thoughts or for an explanation if that was what you required.

I don't mean to be pedantic, but by saying "No one knows nothing" you are actually stating the opposite of what it is I believe you mean, which is "No one knows anything." This is what is known in the English language, as a double negative.

As far as I know, the Lion is the King of the Jungle. I'm no expert in nature, but I do not believe that there is an autocracy led by a hippopotamus, any where in the wild.

Surely that would be a hippopotamocracy, rather than the tyrannical rule of horses to which the OP referred?

True. Perhaps the horses rule the land and the river horses rule the rivers? Also, why is it tyrannical? Perhaps the horses are enlightened despots?

Double negative. Doesn't that mean everyone knows everything then!

Very true. I stand corrected.

Because if the horses were anything other than autocrats, we'd have no need for the guillotine, the barricades or Susan Boyle.

So your response time was far too slow, then - he who lags loses the prize...

So we are in a Houyhnhnms vs Yahoos situation. As long as we get to guillotine Susan Boyle, I'm happy.

If you think youll get respect by lying on a forum your VERY much mistaken

And yes, its changed from you quoting that certain tvs LAG time is faster than others when youve got response times and lag times confused (From what I can gather, I seriously question the pan's time)

Youve also quoted some information which I personally disagree with

But whatever, I dont like dealing with liars................

I just can't understand why you would choose to do this.

This is a good post , and i have seen for myself the issues people have been having when using there main Tv's for there games consoles .

I used to do a lot of gaming with Pc's and still do a bit on the xbox 360 and the ideal mhz for gaming is 60mhz , there is no point in 100 or 200 mhz for gaming

When you purchase a tft screen for a gaming pc you would be mainly looking at good response time and i wouldn't consider anything thing over 8ms but more around the 5ms mark is good

Before this post started i had been considering getting a separate TFT for my xbox as they are getting a lot cheaper and much bigger now
