If I replaced the Amp and CD player mentioned above with budget level Cambridge Audio Topaz AM1 and similar CD player would i get an improvement in sound or do I need to spend more? I have Diesis Mini bookshelf speakers.

Thanks,

Phil

Oh well, I suppose I shouldn't have expected anyone to know these old budget Hi-fi bits. I will have to do the rounds and try to see for myself what will sound better. Its difficult to get the specialists to allow you much time for listening when you aren't spending a lot of money and many of them now are a bit like supermarkets. I also have no where near me that does Cambridge Audio .

Anyone know when the next Hi-Fi show/exhibition might be on in London ?

I had a 8011 about a year ago - I gave it too a frend when I got my SU-V300, wasn't a bad litle amp actualy a very good vintage piece of kit, it's upto you whether you think your sound is good enough and if it's not then change it.
