Regarding my previous post!

Hi again. A quick follow up to my previous post on November 4th `Sennheiser HD 800 equivalent sound´ for anybody who may be interested?! I ended up with Dali io-12s. New price in my country (Finland) €1000. Advertised on a good Finnish second hand site as `as new´ (with photographs) for 600. I offered 500. Said he`d have to think about it overnight. He did, and agreed. Arrived yesterday. Absolutely as new and even though I didn`t get the chance to listen, I am absolutely delighted. As yet, only tried wired. But the wireless version I`m sure is just as good, if not better, and will actually be very useful. Only for home use, I have Valco VMK 20 if needed for travelling. Many thanks again for all your help and advice. PS he bought Stax SR-009 with amplifier, presumably a headphone amp, he didn`t say.

Stax are electrostatic and require a high voltage energiser to work, rather than a conventional headphone amp.

Indeed although there are many headphone amplifiers that will drive electrostatic speakers.
They aren't particularly cheap though.
