Hi Andy

I was very close to going for a plasma myself before the guy in the shop advised me to think again when I told him I don't always watch TV in the dark/with drawn curtains. He warned of the reflections you are seeing.

Sorry to bring you bad news.

Is this wall opposite a window? Plasmas have glass screens, you can't expect much else, it's no different to how CRTs were (LCDs are plastic). If I'm doing some serious film watching on my plasma then all the curtains are closed anyway, exactly as they were when I had a CRT.

Its on the chimney breast with window to right. bought to "upgrade" from 42" lcd. its not as bad if i sit slightly off centre tho and i dont watch much tv during the day so its not the end of the world-just wondered if there are any anti reflective fims/coatings available?

yep-lg. very pleased with it for price-just a pity about this reflection issue. surprised they dont put some sort of coating on-they spend fortunes on motion blur and black levels then ruin it with what you'd think is a relatively straightforward thing to fix. do other manufacturers have this problem?

If I watch my plasma during the day or with ambient light, then I do get a reflection, but it's not awful. I think Panasonic have put an anti reflection coating on it, but it certainly isn't perfect.

However, I usually watch tv in the evening and always turn the lights off and draw the curtains which are to the right of the screen.
