An idea for a music thread I had...No idea if it will work, but I thought I'd give it a try, especially seeing as the "Favourite albums" threads are popular...

Ok. The rules are simple.

Someone posts a link to a track on Spotify or Youtube. Specify what the genre is and why you like it.

The next person listens to the track and gives their thoughts, and subsequently posts one of their own.

In order that there are no? duplicates it's worth posting a "I'll take this one" post or something maybe?

I'll start with a slow, shoegazey type track from a Post-rock band called "Gregor Samsa".... "Young and Old"

It's a very slow burner, but I find it one of the most expressive and emotional pieces of music ever.

For fans of post-rock, ambient, shoegaze..

Never heard of the band before never mind the track, which I thought was great. Nice soundscape and that was only on laptop speakers. Reminded me a little of Mogwai, which is a very good thing!! It will be getting another listen later on some proper speakers.

Tom McRae

First saw him on Jules Holland probably around 99/00 and bought the alum as soon as it came out.

No idea why this guy never made it back in the early 00s when MOTR tosh like David Gray was making millions.

Come on people! :)

I'd review this one, but I already have Tom Mcrae on my listening list. (And I also love David Gray!)
