I have the onkyo TX-SR505E multichanel receiver with Tanoy mercury f1 custom stereo speakers, and QED silver aniversary XT speaker cables, and the Samsung LE26R87BD- and am looking for a cd player, and a Bluray player to match them, i am looking to spend up to £300 on the cd player but preferably less. i want the cd player to fit the onkyo with sound quality and tonality, but also size and colour (silver). for the HD DVD player i am looking to spend around £100-£200 and also want it to suit my amp and soon, cd player with size, colour and performance with my system. Any recomendations anyone? Thanks.

Try a Sony PS3 for the blu ray player.
I think it will also play cds so might be worth listen.

I think A PS3 is probably your best bet. You can get them free with a mobile phone contract these days...

i think the latest Blue Ray players are shying away from the silver finish..... they all seem to favor the glass front panel (sony, panasonic & sharp) piano black (samsung, pioneer & PS3)

as an alternative the Marantz DV6001 has been given a good write up for sound and picture, but it's not a HD player! upscales to 1080p tho.... or just wait till someone launches a silver blue ray player to match the AV AMP
