I suspect there's a correlation between your looking at hifi/AV websites and the occasional self-medication* by pulling the trigger on purchases that you don't eventually go through with. Might be better to look less? Easier said than done, maybe.

(*I don't mean that to sound judgmental - we've had a fairly horrible six months, and Mrs 12th said similar things to me about my 'replace-DVDs-with-blu-rays-of-films-that-are-good-but-not-great-because-they-are-now-so-cheap.')
