Rear speaker postion?

Hi

I have some MS alumni on my rear wall, and the brackets are not the best at turning to the side.

Are rears supposed to be turned in a bit, but not directly at your ear? Or should the look straight ahead?

The are about 6-12inches roughly from my head, so not even sure if thats right, if not oh well they have plugs in them, that I aint moving..
