Does anyone know if the Quad 22L2 is voiced much differently to the
original L series? I have 11L and Centre L at present but want to move
11L to the back and put new 22L2 in front to work with the L Centre but
want to ensure they will sound cohesive.

Thanks.

I have been looking at the L2 range to upgrated my Front and centre. I'd take your centre to a dealer and demo the 22L2 the only differances in the L2's are "the tweeter has been replaced with the one used in Quad's L-ite cinema package, in a redesigned and realigned face-plate (tweaked L tweeter), and the bass-driver's chassis is open-backed to reduce reflections. The cabinets also have cross-bracing, further reducing resonance. Should be OK hope this helps

Any thourghts on the L, L2 range would be great I've got the L2 centre just need to upgrade the decide on the Fronts

Thanks for the comments. I hoped they wouldn't be far off as trying to get 22Ls is pretty difficult.

My comments on the L series - I have got the 11Ls on the front along with the L Centre and have found them to be superb, giving a really open front soundstage. The sound just pans across them happily with no gaps or jumps. Detail is amazing. Quality is superb at this price point. I went for the 11L due to space restrictions but now have the space I want to upgrade to the floorstanders. If you go fo the 11 or 12Ls then I would suggest you get really solid stands. Hope this is useful.

Even thought the L2 series is better, you shouldn't find any problems partnering the L cente and L2 fronts. The centre always sounds a little different anyway due to driver layout and cabinet volumes. You could always move the centre to the back and get an L2 centre at a later date.
