Hi,

I've been told that Tears of The Sun Blu ray is a great way to test your home cinema system including the screen. Am not sure whether this is actually true cos I would've though it all depend on the individual's taste. However if this is the case, are there any other BDs that would be ideal to bring out the best a proper Home Cinema system can offer ?

HI,

There's a plethora of discs for eveyone's taste - or not.

They will show off the sound and picture quality that BD has to offer over the DVD & VHS picture you have been used to.
The Dark Knight is a recent release I can think of that most on here (a certain Mr Everard being a notable exception) have enjoyed. Transformers, Casino Royale (the new one with Daniel Craig although Ms. Newsome would argue anything with D. Craig is awesome) Pixars Cars, Ice Age 2 are two animated films that can be 'bought for the kids'...

Any of those and any that I'm sure others would recommend would show off your system.

Cheers,

Cofnchtr.

Wall-E is also definitely one of the best animated Blu-Rays so far I think. No Country For Old Men also has a superb picture, whereas something like Cloverfield will give the surround sound a stern test. What kinds of film do you like and I'm sure someone can tell you a great Blu-Ray in that genre as a good tester.
