I have been using the same QED 79 strand to biwire my tannoy 6 11 s for at least 10 years, last week a banana plug broke, when i went to replace it i noticed the wire had oxidised quite badly so i cleaned it off and refited a new plug it seems to be ok, should i replace the cable with something like QED silver anniversary XT. if so will I here a worthwile inprovment.I"m using a NAD c542 cd player a kenwood KA 5010 amp also using QED RCA to connect ( also quite old ): has anyone seen this before.

Copper cable does oxidise at the ends after a while but it is nothing to worry about. Cutting it back and re-terminating it is all you need to do to maintain it.

Personally I don't think the upgrade to Silver Anniversary is worthwhile and it may even spoil the sound of your set-up. 79-strand does a very good job IMO.

Agree, would try some different interconnects out instead. Have found personally that they make a very noticable difference toward sound quality.
