Heard both, bought the 1010i 5.1 pachkage, then upgraded the fronts to the 1030i floorstanders to improve the stereo playback. It's a seriously good upgrade for music and movies!!!

Heard the 2000 series at the Manchester Show a few months back.....didn't sound as good as the 1010i set up, but it was being demo'd in a bedroom on the second floor (i think)!!!!!!! I'm sure it's very good, but the sub is said to be the weak link in it.

Saying all that, both are very good (for the money) with movies and music.........

Might start finding it hard to source the 1010i package soon, though, as the 2000 series is the new range.....

Thank you Pistol Pete1 for your response, the problem I have is I haven't got loads of money to spend but when I buy something I want it to be brilliant, Im very skeptical with what Hifi's critisism on the 2000's sub, I like power and punch on tap with music and movies hence Im hesitating.... What ever Amp I buy it must be a Pioneer and the same applies with the bluray to go with my lx5090 plasma, the vsx919 got a good review with the 320 bluray yet I prefer the look of both the 52 amp and the 52 bluray and even considering the 82 amp with the 52 bluray but understand the Q Acoustic packages are not enough to suit the later of the 2....

I've heard all 3 amps and blurays go, the 52 amp was impressive yet the 82 amp was unbelievable and again you can hear the difference with the 320 and the 52 bluray!!! The problem is the store where I heard these go had very few speakers to choose from and didn't stock any Q Acoustics products nor B&W!!!

The space behind/beside my sofa for the rears can't be too deep and the fronts are the same too.....

There are so many choices out there I keep changing my mind!!!

It's a favourite pastime of mine-----spending other people money to 'help'.

What's your budget for blu ray, receiver and speaker package?

Why must you have Pioneer?

I must admit I look on the HiFI forums as I'm more into that side of things than Home cinema, on that side it's hard to beat Cyrus!!!

Back to Home cinema, ideally I'd like to spend about £1500-2k on bluray, av receiver and 5.1 package but if I get change then great or if I need to find another £500 or so then I will, I don't intend on upgrading this new gear for quite sometime so it has to be great!!!

The reason for sticking with Pioneer is I like the finish, looks and quality of pioneer and would like it all matching, also that way I can keep everything linked up using the Kuro....

Looking forward to some suggestions!!! ???

If it were my money, and Pioneer wasn't an issue........sorry not a major fan of Pioneer receivers, I would look into the following:

http://www.hispek.com/P/Denon-AVR2310-Sony-BDPS760-AV-Receiver-and-Blu-Ray-Package(AVR2310BDPS760PACK).aspx

With:

http://www.whathifi.com/Review/BandW-685-Theatre/

If Pioneer is absolutely essential:

http://www.hispek.com/P/Pioneer-VSXLX52-Home-Cinema-Receiver-BDPLX52-Blu-Ray-Package(VSXLX52BDPLX52PACK).aspx

With the same speaker package, but that would be around £2500, before cables etc.

What size is your room? Do you need floorstanders or ok with stand mounted ones?

I do like the look of the B&W speaker package but the rears are way too deep in size and don't want to mix a speaker package with style M1's for the rear, think it looks funny!! the size of my lounge is 4m x 5m.

The Plasma is in the corner directly opposite to my sofa (4.8m) to be precise which made me choose the LX5090 Plasma with ease!!!

I'm not fussed if I have floor standers at the front or not, ideally I would like stand mount ones so I can play with the fire place and make the speakers fit on it which I think will look great and be the perfect height too!!! I have considered style speakers like the Kef 3005SE 5.1 and the B&W MT25/MT30 package but don't think they will give me the sound I'm after!!!

How come you don't like Pioneer receivers if you don't mind me asking???

By the way I have been living on the HI-Spek website looking at the Pioneer packages, RGB are doing very well priced packages too

Was going to suggest the M1's as rears when you suggested the 686's were too deep!!

Your on the right track when you suggest the KEF and B&W style packages, but I find my QA set up sounds much better than my friends KEF 2005.2 speaker package, when it comes to music.

As for Pioneer........I just think the receiver look very 'blocky' and unattractive, and I bet the gloss finish will attract so much dust to stick to it! Saying that, I do realise some of them sound superb, but I'll stick with my Denon AVR2310 anyday!

I would seriously consider the B&W 685 package, with M1's really.......small surrounds, and stand mounted fronts...just what you are after? I would suggest buying it all separately and going for the B&W 610 sub too........

The two QA speaker packages will be be as good as the B&W combination, I imagine.....

If B&W made a smaller (Box style) speaker which I could use for the rears then I wouldn't hesitate but unfortunately they don't, have you heard M&K's M5 system go? It sounded incredible especially for such small speakers BUT at £1750 you would expect it to sound amazing, It was hooked up with Pioneers 82 amp and 320 bluray so after doing some bargaining it would probably still set me back £3500 + cables!!!!! Too much!!!

If you can think of anymore suggestions then let me know, thanks for all your help

I don't want to sound fussy and picky (even though I am) but the last thing I want to do is mix up the speaker manufacturers....

I might have to bite the bullet and go for the 82 amp and the M&K M5 speaker package, it was that good unless something new comes on the market or I could hear the 52 amp run the M5's!!!

I like the sound of a bigger subwoofer tho

I did see that system when looking and comparing prices on Superfi but didn't take much notice, have you heard that system go?

It seems alot of speaker for the money, I may have to hear that!!!

Please keep me updated if you see or hear any great home cinema packages.... Your ideas have got me thinking again

No, the shop only had the M&K M5's, I may have to find a dealer who have Pioneer and M&K on demo

Heard a set of Mission M33i's years ago when my Dad was looking for a new pair of speakers........they did sound very good to me-lots of bass but with detail if I remember correctly.

I imagine the Q Acoustic set up I currently have would be very similar, as a few of the Mission guru's set up Q Acoustics, and if you look at the spec of the QA 1030i and M33i, they are almost identical!!!

If you get keen on floorsatnders at the front, then other set up come to mind......like the new QA 2050, and MA BR5 system......
