PS3 as a sole Blueray Player - tough enough for marathon movies?

Hi guys,

I am planning to buy PS3 as my ultimate BD player since it is cheap. My question is that, is it tough enough if let say I am going to watch LOTR marathon? How's that compared to a normal Blueray player? Is it true that I can do that since PS3 is design for gaming so that it can withstand the heat generated?

Pls help me pls...since I normally watch 3 movies straight during the weekend.

Yes, it should be absolutely fine, though if you're not into gaming and just want a cheap Blu-ray machine, not to mention a very good one, the Sony BDP-S350 is a better bet.
