PS3 & 3D movies

When the whole new 3D technology started to appear there was a clear message from Sonny that they would upgrade the PS3 to enable it for 3D movies and games. This has not yet taken place at least that I am aware of, right?

I have some feeling that between the time they made this announcment and now they have seen PS3 owners also as potential owners of Sonny 3D blue-ray playes therefore, I have the feeling that they are having second thoughs about making the PS3 3D capable other than for games. This would be a real shame if it turns out to be the case.

Any thoughts?

Unbelievable! What a coincidence! This is good news for those of us who had no plan to upgrade from PS3 but still would like to consider 3D in a near future. Thanks!

& it has happened today firmware version 3.50 is available.

The firmware has been available since 2am this morning.

As expected, u dont get 3d through a 1.3 amp, or using an hdmi splitter - but it works fine with a 1.4 amp or plugged directly into tv.
