Projector lamp life!

hello everybody

I am getting Epson EMP-DM1 projector, for US$ 1020(approx).This is a LCD projector with 1000 ANSI lumens and 300:1 contrast ratio, 854x480 resolution

My major concern's are

1) As per the specifications mentioned as per link below, we are getting 3 years or 2000hr lamp warranty...but in some countries there is only 90 days/500hr warranty only , why?

2)What are the major factors that can shorten the life of lamp(fuse lamp/blown lamp).

I'm on my third projector now.
I would say anything from 1500 to 2000 hours is realistic for the life of the lamp.
Not sure why only 90 days.
As a guess I would say that in most cases the lamp will go first. At the end of the day it's only a light bulb.
I wouldn't worry about it. If the lamp is faulty it will go within 90 days, if it's good then you should get a good 1500 hours out of it.
Their easy to replace yourself and depending on the lamp easy to get a replacement.

As you are so experienced, kindly advise which projector company which is known to have the cheapest and most reliable lamps.

Among the three Epson, Benq, Acer, sony which brand would u favour the most and why?

which comes last on your list?
