, I mean of course there is no right or wrong way to play the drums, everyone has their own style. Thought I`d just clear that up just in case like, ahem.

I was 10 when punk exploded onto the music scene...though, of course, the real punks would hate you to call them musicians. Interesting that someone wrote that the punk era spawned some great musicians....who are they referring to? I can think of a handful, billy idol maybe, the clash....errrrrrrrrrr.

I think it was a fascinating period in many ways, though i am not sure that a voice for a generation is apt, it certainly did not speak on my behalf and even today i feel removed from the message it was purported to carry. I think it is very dangerous to mix up fabricated fashions with music, take away all the spandex and safety pins and which really "punk" bands are left worth remembering. Plus, do we call velvet underground etc punks? They, after all, deconstructed music to a certain degree, but musically, not to make "antimusic".

These days there are no great trends like rock, punk, mod, northern soul etc etc etc......seems we lost something somewhere....ÿ
