Problems with m-audio 2496

I'm having real problems with an m-audio 2496 card with win 7. I get crackling on the left hand channel with higher sample rates ie higher than 44.1 khz. After 4 months of struggle with this i have come to the conclusion that it is a driver problem. M-audio are very slow in comming up with a fix for this specificaly win 7 drivers. This is a common problem with this card, if you look on the m-audio forum it's packed with posts with win 7/2496 problems. Any way can anyone recommend a cheap card that works with win 7, 24/96 output and has an optical out,cheers.

Asus Xonar DS 7.1 which u can pick up for around £35. Doesnt do dolby surrounds modes so not for watching moves - but great for music.

yes u can run wasapi or asio

Personally I used to use the asio plugin for winamp with it.

Cheers, just bought this on amazon. For me with win 7 and j river wasapi is the way to go. Hope i don't have the probs that i did with m-audio. I have an asus mobo so hopfully all will be well.
