Pro-ject x1 or Pro-ject x2

Hello everyone,
i'm currently able to upgrade my turntable but honestly don't know which one to go for.
Looks wise the Pro-ject x2 does look beefier than the Pro-ject x1 but will there really be a £300 difference in sound quality.
Not really interested in changing cartridges, will stick with the pick-it s2 mm.
My hifi consists of
Rega planar 1 with carbon cartridge
Roksan Blak amp
Roksan Blak cd player
Oppo 203
Sony JB930 Mini Disc
Sony JA20ES Mini Disc
Proac Studio 140 Speakers
Any advice will be really appreciated

Personally I would pay the extra for the X2 if you want a big upgrade over the Planar 1

Well, you should try to audition and see if Project is for you. But out of those two, if it's not a huge dent in your wallet, I'd get the X2. Source components are so important, and that's especially true when it comes to turntables. Besides, you might always wonder "shouldn't I have gone for the better one?".
