Pro-Ject Debut II Counterweight Help

Hi all,

I'm a beginner to the world of vinyl, although I am fairly knowledgeable with music, guitars, and tech

However, I'm really struggling to set it up correctly, and cannot seem to find ANY videos online showing me how to do it. The Debut II doesn't have any of the dials (or at least the one I have has no dials) and is just the weight block with a small weight balancing on a hook. How do I do this correctly?

Is there anything else I might need to do/know before I start playing?

For reference, the Debut II is going into the ProJect phono box MM into Prodipe Pod3 monitors (I'm a student so I can't really afford much newer gear!)

You could search Youtube for Project Debut turntable, there seems to be a fair amount of guidance available.

Hi there,

i used this set up guide and ignored the weights. I have the same tt as you and the main aim is to to get the tone arm to balance in the air as per the vid and then slide the weight ever so carefully forwards until sits in the grooves nicely. You could of course USA one of those posh turntable scales to measure it super accurately...
