Practical small space solution

I'm trying to think out the most practical solution for my bedroom next year.

I'm planning on using a long wall for a television with my stereo speakers either side using a DAC and my Nad C352.

The problem is I spend a lot of time working at my desk and do my vast majority of pure music listening there. Obviously my speakers aren't going to be in a practical place to listen to music (behind me). I was thinking PC speakers but I'm then essentially using my stereo speakers for home cinema and listening to music through much worse speakers.

The problem is space, I don't have enough space (while sitting at my desk) to have speakers either side of the desk . I need a not-very-wide solution to listening to music at my PC.

Any ideas?

what about mounting them on the wall your desk faces? or get smaller speakers, like b&w mm-1's?

What I mean is there would be room, just close together and at listening at close range...

Thanks for the MM-1 suggestion - will take a look

See the actives thread on the Yamaha HS50s, I'd be very inclined to shortlist some of the sub-£300 actives which will offer a very decent and good quality option.

I'm presuming these speakers designed to be connected to a DAC to get the best quality and don't include one?
