I have never seen any power cable improve sound or vision in any way. And I have tried a few. Totally in the mind in my opinion. But you are most welcome to make your own decisions... So believers, please don't flame me. Personally tho... Waste of money and a great product aimed at a market that is often very willing to be taken in in the search for that little bit extra.ÿ

mv:I have 6 clearer audio silver line power cables in my system and the difference they make is astonishing. I've also trialed chord company's power chords, which are a huge improvement over the free bundled cables, but the clearer audio cables are something else.

Really pleased to hear that you are impressed with the cables mv.

Kind regards,

Darren

Hi Darren - great to see you active here as I'm about to order some of the Copperline cables for my system - just waiting to check the lengths when my new cabinet arrives - you'll be sending them out to Australia for me so there's not much likelihood of them coming back! What I am interested in though is whether you offer any kind of power board for the Australian market? I currently have a Belkin 8-way PureAV and am curious as to whether an upgrade is worth it and what to buy.

Hi Damien,

I try to get onto the forums as much as possible and get involved!

Our 60 Day Money Back Guarantee is worldwide so if you do want to return the cables then you can do so even given the very long distance!

Currently we do not make our HUBs with international sockets. We can however build a HUB with an Australian mains plug and you can then use our power cables with the UK mains plug. Your Belkin will work perfectly well with the Copper-line Power Cables although using a HUB to form a Copper-line Power System will provide better performance as you might expect. The power cables usually give the most significant improvement and the HUB further improves performance. If you are thinking long-term and will be upgrading your system then a HUB can be a worthwhile investment otherwise you might want to stick with your Belkin.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,
Darren

Is it really effective to use high quality power cables for amplifiers, instead of power management system already built inside?

My receiver has no AC power jack, I would modify them if it is really worth

Hi Darren, do you guys do the Copperline with the 2-pin plug as well as IEC as my Panasonic BluRay/DVR has one of these.

Hi Damien,

We cannot terminate directly with a Figure 8 connector due to our power cables being too large in diameter both in terms of the cable and conductors. We can however provide an IEC to Figure 8 Adaptor at a cost of £5.00.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,

Darren

Hi Damien & Darren,

I'm not sure a connector adaptor would be my first choice, Elucidate Cables do a figure 8 connector, see below, and might be a better option:

http://elucidate-cables.co.uk/Products.html

I'm sure there must be others out there too.

Regards

Neil

Agreed on the connector - kind of defeats the object doesnt it?. Unfortunately however, Elucidate dont ship outside of the UK - not exactly a forward thinking sales strategy but there you go. Thanks for the suggestion though. Darren - is this something you guys could look into?

Hi Damien and Neil,

The problem is that standard Figure 8 connectors can only accept a small diameter cable with very small gauge conductors. In order to use a standard Figure 8 connector directly we would need to use cable which is much smaller in diameter and we would also need to use standard size conductors: both factors are very limiting in terms of design options and ultimately performance. You may find companies that squeeze large cables into standard Figure 8 connectors or modify the connector to accept a large cable but this is something that we will not do since both invalidate the connectors saftey approvals and can result in a safety hazard.

The main advantage of using the adaptor is that it does not restrict us with regards to the cable design. The adaptor does put additional contacts in the power line which can be seen as disadvantageous; however the adaptor offers a very low inductance and the benefits of being able to use our full sized cables with all their attributes is much more significant. We have done lots of testing of cables directly terminated with the Figure 8 connector versus our cables with the adaptor and have always found that the later performs significantly better. We are looking at the potential of a Figure 8 connector that can safely accept a large cable as part of continual development but at present the adaptor is the best option.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,

Darren

Hi

Just thought you might like to know, I purchases a figure 8 cable from elucidate and it great, they must use a larger connector or something, because it doesn't look "squeezed" or anything (there's a good picture on there website http://www.elucidate-cables.co.uk/EPICFig8Large.html) and it's made a great improvement to my sky box...it's a shame sky power supplies are so rubbish.

Ive heard a lot of good things about ELUCIDATE cables

Personally I have a TM3 CONNECTIONS (Seller on ebay) solid silver figure 8 mains lead conencted to my Virgin box which made quite an improvement to the picture

I actually HAVE tried the IEC to figure 8 convertor thingie and it ended up breaking my virgin box!
