Power Amp + Streamer

Hi all

I currently own a couple off Dali opticon's 6, I tried them with the combination of 851N + CXA80 and the sound is great but, due to the fact that the 851N can be used as a pre-amp I think maybe a power amp in stead of an integrated one, would be a more effective solution. I am right?if that is the case..for under 1500£ what power amp would you recomend?Don't mind 2nd hand.thanks

I'm not sure you but a power amp only has a single job to do so it would seem to be you could do better with money than buying an integrated. I'd post this question in the hifi section if i were you to get a more detailed response

The Abrahamsen V4.0up looks great value and also in your budget is the top line Nord Ncore's

If you can hide it away and don’t mind manual setup, you can get 1 or 2 of these http://www.music-group.com/Categories/Behringer/Power-Amplifiers/Studio-Monitor-Amplifiers/A500/p/P0217 don’t be put off by the price, as like most professional studio equipment it’s equivalent to Hi-Fi products at 3 or 4 times the price. (Assuming the looks don’t offend make sure it is on your list)

Have you seen the power amp range from Nord Acoustics? They have few models that will fit your budget.

Colin from Nord used a Cambridge streamer direct into one of his power amps and was very happy with the sound.

I have a One Up NC500 and it's great. Huge amounts of power, great detail, soundstage and transparency.
