Pioneer XCHM81 and KEF Q100...a good combination?

I orignally have (and still do) a Denon DM39 and a set of misson MX1 speakers. I really liked the sound as i listen to a lot of rock and dance music. I upgraded my amp to the Pioneer XCHM81 as I liked the built in airplay and other features. I have never felt that the MX1 speakers go as well with this amp as they did with my DM39 for my music taste (it seems to lack bass by comparison). I have been toying between moving the MX1s back to the DM39 linked to my iMAC and buying either the KEF Q100s or the B&W 685s for some time. I have just seen and bought the white Q100s from SuperFi on a black friday deal for £250 (seems very good value for these). I would like to know if this was a sensible decision as I haven't been able to test the setup like I did with the DM39 and MX1s or if I am wasting my money upgrading to these Q100s...the main reason I was looking at the Q100s or 685s is I don't have room for a sub and these both seem to get good reviews for bass (which whilst I don't want to drowned by does make a difference for rock and dance music). Help please!
