I have my xbox one plugged into the reciever via the HDMI cable.

When it is not switched on, and I chose this channel I can flick through all the "themes" (dolby music, movie, logic | Neo, music, game etc)

However, once I turn the xbox on, I cannot access these themes. I get the same issue when I connect my laptop. To resolve the issue I tend to switch on and off and hope for the best. I've checked I have the latest firmware which I do.

I have my TV connected via a optical cable and this allows all the themes when I have this channel on.

Anyone got any ideas? I've only had it two months and not impressed with this so far.

Thanks.

Sounds like what my VSX-922 does with my blu-ray player. Is it displaying "PCM"? That means that the audio decoding is being done by the xbox and fed to the AV receiver already decoded into Dolby or DTS. If you want your receiver to do the decoding instead, you will probably have to change a setting on the xbox so it outputs the audio as "Bitstream" rather than "Linear PCM".
