Sorry it seems my original post didnt actually post!

So here it is again!

I am moving from a small living room running a tv/bluray to a large room 8m x 6m and home cinema set up with a projector. So far i've been running KEF 2005.1 speaker set and an Arcam AVR200 which lacks hdmi and is starting to show its age, so wished to upgrade the amp now (one thing at a time). I know the KEFs arent thr best package ever but i suspect i might at some point upgrade, or perhaps add a seperate set of higher quality stereo speakers for music.

Though i need the amp to perform well for yhe cinema, i am a great jazz music afficionado, and so want an amp that can produce the sophisticated sound that the music requires.

Whathifi suggest that the pioneer range is the best at the monent hence i write about these, though i can consider others. What i dont know however is what the differences are between them, are there features i should look out for? And will sound quality be greatly affected as the price is increased? Also are there any real discernible differences in sound from 2011 and 2012 models? These are the pricing options (if i can take advantage of the pioneer special offer at the moment):

LX55 £835

LX56 £900

LX75 £1125

LX76 £1300

LX85 £1295

LX86 £1450

The most obvious comparison is of the LX76 and LX85 in price, but my knowledge just doesnt stretch anywhere close!

Many thanks for your yhoughts and advice

For your speakers. I think LX55 / 56 should be adequate. But if you plan to upgrade your speakers at a later date, a higher model (75 / 76) may be more appropriate.

Demo the receivers in question & see if you can notice any difference to justify the higher price tag.

Unfirtunately im stuck out in the middle of nowhere and testing them is rather difficult. I do think at some point though a speaker upgrade is likely.
