Pioneer or panasonic

Hi im looking to buy the best tv i can find for £1700 the 2 best i have seen in my opinion are the

Pioneer PDP-508XD and the Panasonic TH-50PZ70B . Can any of you please help advise me on the best or if there is any i have missed or should i wait a month or 2 for some new tvs to be released.

Oh yea and i have a playstation 3 which i will be using on it and i will be using a standard virgin cable box so i would like it to perform well on normal tv as well as hd tv.

I'd definitely go for the Pioneer, it's a cracker. True, we're in the middle of the new-model release cycle for most TV manufacturers right now, but then models change so often these days there's always something new around the corner. The Pioneer is still a superb buy, especially if you can get it for £1700 - it was originally £3000.

If you have to buy now, definitely the Pioneer. If you can wait, I'd definitely wait. The new Panasonic 50" sets should be released soon and hopefully Pioneer will confirm pricing on their 9th Generation sets which should be released in June.

ive been told to look at the pz80 does anyone kno if it will match or beat the pioneer??
