Pioneer N-P01 - why so little info out there?

I am looking for a device to take my digital files and pass them to my DAC and thus into my hifi. There are plenty of devices and, to my mind, as the device will not be manipulating the file then ease of use etc should be one of the key criteria. Whilst investigating on the interweb, I have found a smart looking Pioneer that ticks many boxes. Unfortunately, there is a total lack of review info or forum info on the N-P01. Given that, on paper, it makes a lot of sense then I am surprised/confused and would like to know if there is a huge hole that I will be jumping into if I get one.

Any advice?

What do you want to know?I have one of these and it does what it does perfectly. As long as you connect to your own dac you won´t hear any differences in comparison with other devices,it is just used as a transporter. You can connect also via RCA if you want to use it´s internal dac which is also ok but you have to decide for yourself.

I currently use an iPod through a dock to my DAC, and am hoping that the N-P01 will replace the dock and provide a user friendly interface. I will use an iPad to control it, as I believe that it supports the Pioneer user App. Does it all work as advertised? Is it user friendly? What kind of system are you using it in, and how does it compare to your other sources?

Everything works as advertised and the little screen is very handy and seperates it from other streamers. It can be remote controlled or via app which is user friendly.I use it as a transporter and connected it via optical to my dac. That way it sounds as good/bad as any other streamer at any price just depending on the dac you use.Via RCA things are different.IMO my optimized SBT and a Bluesound note sound better via RCA which are comparable in price not to speak pricier ones like linn etc.. but that also depends on the system it is used in.
