Loads of questions from me.... HELP AGAIN ???

I want to upgrade my current system and am considering buying the pioneer lx82... however, should i buy the lx52 instead and spend the £700 saving on a dedicated hifi amp??

I have an Arcam CD73T... Is the lx82 that good that the diff would be marginal between seperates ?? i.e. dont compromise on the surround amp and hifi amp and just go for the 82?

The LX82 is very good for 2ch but he overall results will depend on your speakers. How do you split your listening, is it mostly music and a bit of film/tv/gaming or the other way round. If music is the priority then the 52 or even the new 1020 and a 2ch amp should produce better results.

I probably use the system 50/50 for films and music.... i'm not really a gamer, so no interest in that side of it.

Speakers are the Monitor Audio S8's... LOVE THEM !!! :)

FrankHarveyHiFi:
I use an 82 at the moment, and I have to say that music is surprisingly good for an AV receiver.

Ditto!

More than happy with music from mine with RX6's,.

I was seriously thinking of getting a seperate amp when I bought my system, but I feel I don't need to now.

I also have a SC-LX82 and as the rest of the guy's say it sound's fantastic when playing music so therefore hopefully you should be quiet happy if you decide to purchase it. All of my freind's also agree that it sound's brilliant and i know 3 of them are going to buy the sc-lx82 because of just listening to it in music mode and movie mode around my house. Make sure that you pair with decent high quality speaker's and you will be more than happy. Just to add that for movies it is also very fantastic and has load's of power on tap an excellent allrounder, i LOVE it and would not think of getting a different receiver..
