i'm debating whether a 50 might be too big for my room. Which other 40 - 46inch pioneers would you recommend for Blu - Ray, possible ps3 and dvds?

Not sure. The others are LCD's and imo not as good as the Plasmas when watching them side by side.

I view from between around 7 and 12ft or so, depending on where I sit and its no problem with the 50" (I wish I could say the same about the SKY HD box which I got yesterday but the SD picture on it is dire compared to the Pioneers built-in free view).

There are many rumours around about the length of the pioneer promotion, some saying that prices will rise again tomorrow. I can't say for certain but it may be a good idea to be quick if you want that brand. Then again ...

i actually went to the shop yesterday to get a 5090,on the sole purpose of getting the pioneer warranty(then got told it wasn't any different than the on-line d+g one)The guy who sold me the panel said the offer last's till monday then prices go back up,also heard him say to another customer that he was sure prices on quite a few brands would go up not down especially around new year time.

As to the warranty, I've no idea who is actually behind it but its 5 years home service/collect by pioneer appointed engineers. That'll do me.

wow,have to admit the poor harrassed guy who sold me mine did look very shocked at the amount that had been sold by 2'o clock yesterday(probably couldn't believe poeple were still not sure wether to buy or not at that price,although it is still a lot of money).Hope people get there quick,still cant believe my luck.Apology's for not checking my information earlier,they must be selling faster than they thought,,
