OP, I agree with everyone who doesn't have an ulterior motive (BigBernardBresslaw, I'm looking at you). In fact, in another thread on this forum, BBB has said that every single day he regrets his decision to sell his perfectly working Pioneer in order to buy what turned out to be the first of several troublesome Panasonic plasmas. The last reliable year of Panasonic plasmas was 2011; since then, they have been quite variable in reliability - some have been perfect, some have been horrendous.
I couldn't have put it better myself that what StrappedForCash said in post number 5 of this thread. Don't change unless you want a noticeably bigger screen, and I mean at least 60 inches. I'm lucky in that I have 8th-generation and 9th generation Pioneer TVs, and even if I were to win the lottery, neither of them are going anywhere. If you really want 3D (why??) and to game, there are lots of fairly cheap LCD televisions that would allow you to do that. And if you do buy one of the last Panasonic plasmas, many people report problems after long session of gaming on the last two generations of Panasonic plasmas. If you want a HD tuner, buy a fairly cheap (less than £200) Freeview HD or Freesat HD box. Don't sell your wonderful Pioneer KRP500A for what, to me and most on here, seem to be invalid reasons. But hey, it's your decision. And if you insist on ditching it, please give first refusal to BigBernardBresslaw! 🙂
