I think it’s an Onkyo and Pioneer amp. I had the Pioneer Sc-lx901 amp and it wasn’t bad but not great either. There was some rumours that Pioneer was going to start using Dirac Live though.

Unlikely as Onkyo sold the Pioneer name to Voxx for all areas other than China.

To be more precise, Onkyo acquired Pioneer and now Voxx has acquired Onkyo.

I really love my Denon and it’s better than the Pioneer sc-lx901 for sure.

If you look on YouTube most of the new models (Although they don’t seem to be available in the UK) do come with Dirac. (They are also the 05 models not 04 models that are showing on Richer Sounds)

To be honest Dirac Live on Pioneer amps just puts me off them even more.

Thought Dirac was one of the better room acoustics software out there. Used on Arcam amplifiers. Most stuff I have read seems to think it's better than Audessey?

It is but it’s a pain to setup unless Pioneer have found an easier way.

Dirac is perhaps for the home cinema purists/dedicated setups. Bit like using REW with a UMIK and laptop. I'm happy with Audessey XT32 for now though. Does a good job in my room. Sounds more like a bubble of sound than previous setups I have had.
