A couple people have asked me how I added pictures to my sig line, so rather than continuing to hi-jack Big Air's thread I started this one.
I got the idea from idc who did it first. First you have to post the pics to a picture hosting site. I use photo bucket. Then you just put the image html into your signature. But, you can only have 256 characters in your sig line, so make sure the image name is short. I also put all 3 images into one jpg otherwise I would never have been able to post 3 pics and stay below 256 characters. Here's an example (but you need < > around this): IMG SRC="http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/youralbum/hifi.jpg" width="360"
I was also asked how I was able to make 1 jpg out of 3. For that I used the paintbrush program that comes with Windows.
1. Open up all 3 jpgs each in it's own paintbrush app.
2. Shrink down the images to a managable size. Use the "stretch/skew" function on the image menu. I shrunk them horizontally and vertically to 20% of the original. Do this to all 3.
3. Using "attibutes" option on the image menu, change the width of the 1st image to 3 times it's current size, plus a little for white space.
4. Now do a "select all" and copy the other two images into the 1st image leaving a small amount of white space between them.
5. Save the image back to disk as a jpg. Now you're ready to upload the single jpg to a picture hosting site.
BTW, if you add an image to your sig, I'd recommend picking a reasonable size (controlled by the width value in the html) so it's not too distracting. You can change the width setting to anything you like and it will auto pick the appropriate scaled height value since it's not specified.
It's funny, this is really very simple stuff but anytime you try and explain anything techie it sounds horribly complicated....
