This is done using a HDMI cable. There are combo boxes having both a DVB-T HD tuner and a SAT DVB-S tuner..

Would I be right in thinking that having an external tuner complicates things somewhat, especially with a TV like the Philips range which has a lot of ajustments? The external box could do some processing of the signal which may or may not suit the Philips TV which in turn would be doing more processing.

And if you have an AV amp in there as well, you've got 3 sets of variables?

Or am I over complicating matters?

Hi, I have the philips 9664 and watch sky hd, this is also connected via my amp. No problems, its no different to connecting a bluray player?

Depending what tv processing you have left on you may have to adjust the lip sync as there will be a delay, i have a few settings on minimum so therefore within the sky box settings i have a slight audio delay. I find with my bluray player i turn all processing off as the source is good and there is no audio delay, again all of this goes through my amp.
