I really don't know what black levels has to do with the quality of a tv.

Also sound, thats very important.

A high end philips LED VS Pioneer 50 inch plasma. this is exciting.

I would be surprised if the philips did not come out on top. We are just going to have to wait and see know.

Clare does the philips have hd freeview built in? Am I also right in thinking the ambilight is on the back and not on the front? Also what colour is the frame is in white, grey, black? I can't really tell in the pictures.

no current tv has hd freeview built in afaik , the ambilight is on the back , around the edges i think ...

I thought panasonic tv's has high definition freeview built in? How about the main frame on the front what colour is that and does it light up?

No freesat is Free To Air via a satellite dish nothing to do with sky, & most panasonic tv's come with freesat, freeview, & analoge tuner's built in.

No, you don't have to have had Sky to enjoy Freesat - you can have a dish installation when you buy a Freesat TV or set-top box - but ex-Sky customers can use their dish to enjoy Freesat.

It should be between £50-£100 your local yellow pages should help you find an installer.
