I have a PC connected to some great Bose desktop speakers.
I also have an amp connected to some Bose external speakers.

I'd like to be able to play my itunes music and switch the speakers between internal, external and altogether.

At the moment I am are using a 3mm jack splitter from the 3.5mm audio port to split the signal but when everything is turned off the desktop speakers buzz which is really annoying.

If I connect all the speakers through the amp then I can not choose where the music plays.

Is there any way I can get this to work with out the basic audio jack splitter or by having to physically rewiring everything each time?

You have a few options here to select where music plays with the internal active speakers connected to the "TAPE OUT" on your amplifier and the external speakers presumably connected directly to the amp's speaker terminals.

1) Obvious question but, does the amp have the facility to turn the speakers off (sometimes a speakers switch that simply turns speakers off for headphones listening as an alternative to other amps where this turns off when headphones are plugged in) - if so you can select to turn the speakers off and still have the amp on to put the signal into the active speakers

2) If no to (1), to play music on the internal speakers, simply turn the volume down on the amp (the outputs to the internal speakers are at a fixed level so are not affected by the amp volume).
