Hello I am thinking of buying a 3d TV. I was leaning towards a passive 3D Lg set. I was wondering as the tv is passive to i still need to buy a 3d compatable amplifier and BD player to get 3d picture and well as High def sound. I currentley own a PS3 which i understand when displaying 3d tv signal can only play dolby digtal or DTS not there high def versions.
I was curious because Sky can transmite a passive tv signal from there sky boxes and they are not the latest HDMI version.

Hi Simon,

In order to enjoy HD sound, it is not necessary to change your amp, just buy a 3D capable Bluray player with twin HDMI outlets.

I saw an LG passive 3D tv over christmas and I thought the picture was excellent, but my friends returned the TV to the store as there was an unacceptable lag when used for gaming. As regards the Sky box I think you would have to connect it direct to the TV for it to work.

3D is not something that rings my bell, I don't think it will last.
