Panasonic UB9000 - Issue ?

I've had this player a little while . The Picture quality is great . But i've noticed that it gets extremely warm when in use . When removing the disc after play , the Disc is very warm (borderline hot ! ). The player is mounted an a good quality rack with plenty of ventilation.

Can anyone advise , is it normal for this player to get hot when in use ?

Heat will always be generated by electronics and mechanical devices.
One person's hot is another person's warm, so it's difficult to say whether it is normal or not.
Measure the temperature and contact Panasonic (Or one of their service centres) with the results, as they will be able to tell you whether its normal or not.

Hi , Thank you for your good advice. My player is still in warranty with Panasonic so I'll collate some facts and get their Opinion

I don't own one but in my opinion there is something wrong there. It shouldn't get overly hot, it's not as if it is an amplifier. None of the players I have owned got any more than slightly warm.

Indeed, something is very, very wrong.
I'd switch that thing off, leave it off and return it for a replacement soon as.

That's a thought, there is a small fan fitted to the rear of device.
