I'd appreciate any comments on the quality of the SD picture from the 42px80.I'm about to change my mind about buying a new tv because of some not very good comments regarding freeview SD pic.

This was the tv i was probably going to get and as i would be watching freeview tv more than DVD, the normal tv picture is important.

Thanks

PX80 Freeview picture is very good overall. Even better with Virgin SD. Major channels are excellent. If the picture is not up to scratch then it's down to the high compression / low bit rates on some of the channels (Dave etc..)

Thanks Rewerb, only only one response, maybe not many watch basic tv broadcasts these days.

i do and id like to know if sd is good enough on 42, or should i go for 37... help! any people that know out there, cant find a review on here for the 42.... link anyone?

Hi,

I have the older model of this TV and the SD picture quality is excellent on the main channels but as mentioned it's dependant on the bit rate of the channel you watch. Overall I'm very happy with my 42".

Hi:

I have 42PX80, and I too watch SD most of the time than DVD. I auditioned many TVs in that price range mostly for good SD pictures, and am happy to say nothing comes close to PX80 for SD PQ. Stunning.🙂
