Panasonic SC-BT200 connections and 5.1 DD

Apologies if this is a very basic question, but I'm trying to connect my SC-BT200 to my Pana 46G10 TV and Sky+ box.

I have followed the instructions from quite a lot of post here and think I have got it right but.......my basic question is:

To get Dolby Digital 5.1 when available from the TV and Sky+ box do I need to have the SC-BT200 turned on (or is my wiring wrong).

I have found that when I have the SC-BT200 turned on I can get sound through the 5 speakers when the TV is on, and when the SC-BT200 is turned off the sound just comes from the TV speakers.

It needs to be on. Make sure your Sky+ box is connected via optical and set to "DOLBY D" in the sound settings under optical output.

Many Thanks, I thought it needed to be on to enable the sound to play through the 5 speakers but just needed confirmation from someone who knows more than I do about these things.

Thanks for putting my mind at rest, I had already set Dolby D on the Sky+ box as you suggested.
