Just joined forum so take it easy on me all you techno freaks! I'm considering purchasing the panasonic px80, read all those rave reviews but I have a question. Now I know the subject of screen burn has been discussed before, but I have a 5 year old daughter who just loves watching all those awful children's channels. Now if I decide to go with the pani how would it cope with all those screen logo's. Would I have to tell my daughter no tv until pani has been broken in?

The screen burn issue is not really and issue these days. Plasma 's have improved so much that most people have no problems if they stick to good manufactures like Panasonic. It is not a bad idea to go easy with a new set. But I would say the most important thing is to turn the colour and contrast down for the first few hundred hours.

There are people on here who play games on Plasma TV for hours and hours and have no trouble. One guy said he regularly falls asleep and then wakes early in the morning with the set still stuck on a game page with no burn problems.

i dont even believe you have to turn settings down for the first X amount of hours... after seeing many plasmas on demos for hours on end... all at high contrast and brightness.. cant complain of any screen burn issues

Hope so matthew.... don't relish the prospect of having to run in pani, just want to be able to sit back and enjoy!! After all that's what you pays your money for!
