Panasonic Plasma setup

Ok folks after taking advice from you lot on plasma or LCD I plumped for the plasma. It's being delivered on Thursday (cue trumpet fanfare). Anyhow being a plasma newbie what should I look out for or what would you recommend I do with regards to setup? I have ordered a component cable to go from my humble DVD player to the Plasma as I think it's meant to give better quality. Eventually the old DVD player will be replaced by a blu ray player. How about the TV setup itself. Is there anything else to watch out for? Tips? I ordered the Panasonic TH-42PX80. Current hardware to go with it is a Panasonic DVD DMR- ES20D (don't think it upscales), a Sony STR-DB930 surround sound amp and an mark 1 x-box, all fairly old but they do the job. I also have a sky+ box. I thought there was a what hifi page on the subject but as yet I haven't found it. Thanks!

Well, without doubt, the main thing to do when you've finally got the TV and amp all hooked up is to change the settings it comes with! A decent THX DVD will have a THX Optimizer setup on it (Star Wars I-III has this, as does Harry Potter I think and some Pixar DVDs). Also, have a look at the WHF guide here.
