PANASONIC OR SONY

Having read so many reviews, I'm even more confused. I was opting for a Panasonic (but not sure whether it should be LCD or Plasma) until I read reviews about the Sony KDL 40W4500. They are the only two manufacturers I am considering as Pioneer's new range is not getting good reviews and they are also much more expensive. I would welcome an opinion which t.v. would be better Panasonic or the Sony.

Having a Samsung 40 lcd myself, and feeling a little disappointed with sd tv, and freeview and unatural colours which seem a bit bright and artifical at times, i would go for plasma. My brother went for the panny 37 x80b and is really delighted with sd tv and freeview, also great with dvds and gaming. I would go and look at the Panny range and compare against the Sony 40w4500 with your favourite films and ask for a demo with sd tv sky hd. Try some fast moving sport for blur and motion this should help make up your mind.
