Panasonic 2009 Plasma Line-up

In addition to the X10 plasma models which are due in stores now, here are the rest of the confirmed UK models in Panasonic's 2009 line-up. Prices and specs are officially announced next week.

HD Ready (1366 x 768)

No word on a 'PX8' style entry level range as yet.

TX-P42G15 (G15 = the 'dreaded' IFC model?)

TX-P46S10

TX-P50S10
TX-P50V10

No word on the Z series yet, guessing a release date later in the year. Also having a guess at the 'S' series being the Freesat model in the UK. Would seem to be a very similar model 'structure' to 2008.

Hi,

I really like the V Series, it has everything I want in terms of features and looks but Panasonic do not offer it in a 46" version which is size I have my heart set on! The V series is far more attractive than the G and I cannot understand why Panny would skimp on size selection on their best looker? Looks like they have let either the bean counters or the buffoons let loose again.

RRP starting to come through now. First indications are that the 2009 models, as with Sony, are initially at the same RRP as the 2008 models.

hi alsina i went on panasonics website last night where they upgraded their page revealing their new range i know there last range had ifc but they have improved on this years with ifc pro 600hz sub field drive in combination with the 1080 lines of moving picture its even made its way down to the s10 series to. don't you think that it might be even better than the last models? i have my eye on the 46 inch g10
 
Tentative (from Panasonic) price on the TX-P46Z1 is an RRP of £3499. No indication of price on the 54" yet.
 
In the Pana's new line up there doesnt seem to be any mention of there professional displays TH-65VX100, TH-50VX100,TH-42PF11,TH-50PF11,TH-58PF11 or the TH-65PF11, there also seems to be very little information or reviews anywhere ?
 
First deliveries of the 42" G10 into stores in the next couple of days. We get ours on Monday.

Iïm looking at one of the new panasonic plasmas, and have a question about intelligent frame creation pro 600hz sub field drive. Does anybody know what this is or does? I thought it might be the equivalent of Sonyïs motionflow of 100hz and 200hz, but the tech specs on the panasonic site for theg10 says: 100hz double scan - yes, but then also lists the 600hz thing.

Are they different and what impact do they have on picture quality?

Iïd appreciate any advice on this, as Iïm a bit confused by all the different things to look out for on hdtvs.

i have a panasonic plasma , great all rounder for the money , but if i had £1400 or £1500 to spend , id sell my grandmother to get the extra for a kuro , i dont see how panasonic can expect to shift their screens at that price ( unless there are big discounts to be had ) when a kuro is only slightly more ? it would be an easy descision for me .....
 
Yeah, the KURO is better. But I think prices on the Panasonic 2009 models will soon fall. They have just launched so...
 
Wow, can't wait for the TXP46G15. Seen a coupl eof sites suggesting launch in June, anyone aware if this is fairly accurate? like the viera cast idea - looks like taking it to a new level.

Any news on the flagship Z series? I'm curious to see whether it can beat the Pioneer 500A which will be discontinued.
